Brookline Elections

Susan Park is the TRUSTED CHOICE and has a reputation for being a leader. She rolls up her sleeves, works hard, and gets the job done. One of Susan’s strengths is that she gets along with others, motivates people, and brings people together. If elected, she will bring diversity, a wealth of experience, a heart full of service and integrity to the Select board. This is Susan’s 5th year serving as a Town Meeting Member and her second year as the Vice President of the Brookline Town Meeting Member Association.

She has served on the Brookline Advisory Committee, was a reporter, a former high school English teacher, and is an author. Her experiences have shaped her well for the job of Select Board. She has experience writing and passing complex warrant articles for Town Meeting for the last 5 years and recently successfully passed a warrant article among other warrant articles that led a ballot initiative that helped bring a referendum on an issue that was important for Brookline residents. Susan listened, worked with others, and led a complex process through many years and took action for her concerned constituents. Susan is known to be effective and to get results.

Susan also sat on the Brookline Wellness Advisory Committee this past year and helped edit the K-12 Wellness Policy for the Brookline School District to help address substance abuse education, mental health issues, social emotional learning, and healthy nutrition amid the post Covid mental health crisis our country is facing.

Susan is running for Select Board because she cares for the people of Brookline. She has a wealth of experience, will bring diversity and representation to the Select Board, and will help Brookline continue to flourish. She has a good reputation of being an active listener who tries to understand issues before taking action. Susan has led teams that have been effective and impactful. One recent example is capping retail marijuana stores in Brookline to four since she and her team realized there were already 35 stores within 5 miles of Brookline. Susan is principled, and her broad experiences have equipped her for Select Board.
